Mobile Sonographer

Duties
•Primary role: Ultra Sonongraphy/General Radiography
•Provide specialist support to General Manager; assisting other members of the team to meet clinical requirements
•Produce images to department operational procedures and policies, using techniques that produce the lowest radiation dose to the patient and staff.
•Practise good radiation protection and safety and observe local rules and systems of work.
•Manage the designated working area and ensure that it is tidy, clean and efficiently run, and as part of a team apply these criteria to the Imaging Department generally.
•Participate in and support the imaging centre's business plan and goals and objectives.
•Participate in and contribute to quality assurance tests within the Imaging Department.
•Update clinical knowledge and professional development on an ongoing basis.
•Charge for all radiography services, fulfilling all the billing requirements of the department.
•Comply with corporate, urgent care centre and departmental policies and procedures.
•This post holder will be expected, in time, to assume shared responsibility for a specific area of the department e.g. QA / audit

Requirements:
•Degree in Diagnostic Radiography
•Ideally 2 years General Radiography experience
•Qualification Validated by the Irish Institute of Radiography (www.iir.ie)
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Dynamic and motivated with the highest standards of clinical practice
•Competency in new complex technology
•Ability to design and customise protocols
•Proficient on multiple vendor systems and be capable of supervising trainees
•An ability to participate in unsupervised shift work and as a sole radiographer
•Compliance with organisational policies, procedures and protocols, including Quality Assurance and Key Performance Indicators
