Sunbeams playschool offers sessional care Monday-Friday from 9.15am to 12 noon in Balbriggan, catering for children aged from 2 1/2 years to 5 years old. We open and close in accordance with the main school holidays of Easter, Christmas and the Summer.
We are conveniently located in the centre of Balbriggan, at 6 Fulham Street (the strret directly facing the front of St Peter and Paul's Junior National School on Chapel Street)
We believe in the importance of play as a valuable learning tool for young children and we aim to provide a safe, caring and enjoyable environment which promotes and provides for all areas of children's development.
We offer a wide,varied and structured programme including arts and crafts, music and dance, story-telling, dressing up,playdough, sand and water play , physical education and nature.
We also teach things like colours, shapes, numbers, concepts such as "above and below" etc.
Themes we cover include all about me, the seasons, weather, water, animals, health and nutrition, the lifecycle of a caterpillar/butterfly, gardening and fruit and vegetables.
We are a member of the IPPA (Irish Preschools and Playgroups Association), and are notified to, registered with and passed by the Health Service Executive (formerly the Health Board).
We are a small playschool with a maximum of 12 children attending and we maintain a high staff to child ratio of at least 2:12.
Staff are Fetac/IPPA qualified in childcare and hold valid Paediatric first aid certificates.
