Finance Process Specialist
Reporting To: Head of Customer Plan Process Simplification Role purpose: To proactively manage and initiate process changes across the business in order to improve customer experience and / or operational effectiveness and efficiency using 6 Sigma methodology or similar. The successful candidate will be primarily focused on all Finance related processes but as business needs arise, their specialist skills may be required to work on other business processes.
Responsibilities: � Generate and implement new initiatives working closely with all Finance stakeholders
� Improve procedures and processes to eliminate unnecessary work and maximise the productive use of resources
� Maintain effective relationships with Finance managers, wider business and 3rd parties to attain business objectives
� Responsible for Finance related business improvement initiatives, co-ordination, facilitation, design and expert resource
� Actively engage in cross functional business improvement initiatives, co-ordination, facilitation, design and expert resource
� Develop measurement methodologies for each process improvement
� Support the Customer Plan Finance Team to incorporate process improvement measures into the Budget Process
� Document and maintain all processes in line with standards and methodologies
� Co-write training materials and assist and assess delivery of training for Customer / business process improvement initiatives.
� Support the Finance Project Manager to deliver objectives against target
� Engage with Finance and wider organization to ensure that process ownership is aligned and that continuous improvement is factored into all process improvement initiatives
Skills and experience:
� 5 years proven experience in a similar role and/or professional qualification
� Qualified or part qualified Accountant
� 6 Sigma, Prince, Project Mgmt or similarly qualified
� Financial and business acumen
� Customer focused
� Numerical & analytical skills (ability to interpret data/ metrics)
� Ability to think innovatively and not be constrained by current practices
� Ability to manage a demanding, wide and varied workload effectively
� Strong written and verbal communication skills
