Technical Writer
Job Purpose
The Technical Writer is responsible for writing and editing documents and help files for different audiences from highly technical to basic users, and produce final, professional-quality documentation on schedule.
Duties:
•To be work as part of a process validation team on a project work •Writing new documents in Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel format.•Updating/amending existing documents and work instructions that give directions to operators where the content of the work instruction having being identified as requiring an update/amendment to reflect recommendations, omissions or process improvements.•Verbal and written communication with the Engineers, Documentation Services Department and the Process Validation team.•Ad-hoc writing-related tasks such as occasionally creating or helping to create a presentation for reporting issues to management, creation of a template for meeting minutes, assisting other team members with their writing and doing a final edit of documents•To conform to documentation standards and practices set by the documentation team.•To test documentation against the process to ensure it is accurate and complete.
Skills & Qualifications
•Third level qualification in technical writing or a related subject•A track record of successful delivery of tasks to timescales. •Technically competent, with excellent organizational and personal management skills. •Flexibility and the ability to ‘multi-task’. •Deal with projects in an organised and professional manner. •Understanding of and ability to work within an internationally structured team. •Strong written, verbal communication and other people skills •Possess a high level of initiative, commitment to deadlines, team interaction and input •Excellent oral and written English language skills •Excellent presentation and reporting skills •Excellent analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills •Excellent team working skills, combined with the ability to be self-sufficient as required, are essential. •Work well under pressure, adopting clear thought processes in order show a focused, positive and flexible approach to issue resolution.
